Join Fair Trade Berkeley and Buy Local Berkeley at Saul's Restaurant & Delicatessen for a Fair Trade Celebration!

On July 13th, City Council resolved Berkeley to be a Fair Trade Town.  It's Time to Celebrate!  Come to the Declaration Celebration and toast Berkeley with Fair Trade cocktails!  Enjoy appetizers, Fair Trade samples & enter to win great Fair Trade Raffle prizes!  This happy hour event runs parallel to the Thursday's Farmer's Market, so bring your bags & enjoy the Buy Local, Buy Fair extravaganza!  Come celebrate Berkeley & learn more about what it means to live in a Fair Trade Town!

Fair Trade Partners and Vendors include: Ben & Jerry's - Berkeley, Divine Chocolate, Fair Trade Spirits, Fair Sports, Global Exchange, HonesTea, La Yapa, Numi Tea, Saul's Restaurant, Thanksgiving Coffee and Others.  Proceeds will further the educational outreach of Fair Trade Berkeley to grow consumer and retailer awareness regarding the importance of Fair Trade.

Fair Trade Berkeley is a grassroots organization that spent the past year working to make Berkeley the 19th Fair Trade Town in the United States.
To be recognized as a Fair Trade Town, City, or Community in the U.S., the following criteria need to be fulfilled:

- Form a steering committee
- Outreach to area retailers
- Engaging the community
- Gain Media Attention
- Pass a Fair Trade Resolution
